Hey everyone, I know I haven't been active on DA for a long time and that I left no reason as to why I left. So today I had a random browse through some of my old messages and found that I had been featured in =OtisBee's Journal, that 'Manicho had given me a whole heap of favs and a watch and that I am now pretty close to 10K page views.

There was a time when I seriously considered leaving DA for good, but looking at my message center today I realized just how much this community has given me. It will take a while for me to get back into the habit of regularly sitting down and opening Ps to start on a new Wallpack, but I'm going to try and start again.

Basically, what I'm saying is that I'm going to try and get back into the swing of things and start submitting new stuff. If your interested in why I left in the first place, read on otherwise, if your pressed for time, you've already got what I wanted to communicate in this journal.

Why I left:

As well as being as playing guitar, surfing and spending way to much time on my computer, I am also completely addicted to mountain biking. Me and a Mate build dirt jumps in some bush near my house, and try to go for a ride everyday. Anyways, a while ago (when I left DA) I got some pretty good results at school (was presented an academic award at awards night) and my parents decided to let me buy a new bike. I spent allot of time around MTB forums rather than on DA deciding which model and once I bought it I found that I liked spending time on those forums (pinkbike.com) and started frequenting them instead of DA.

That wouldn't have been enough to stop me from submitting wallpapers, but I have always waned to make some money by doing occasional design work, and have felt web design was the way to do it, so I also started teaching myself HTML and CSS. This completely tied up all my time and I stopped making WallPacks. Web design led to another topic RIA's (rich internet applications) and I am now pretty good at coding in Action script and mxml and with using adobe flex. I have some programming background in pascal and python and am finding AS to be an amazing language.

While I am going to continue my work with AS, I am also going to make some time for DA and wallpacks. you might see some other thing from  me though, like web or interface designs.

I just want to thank the whole DA community once again for continuing to stand by me even in my extended absence.


UPDATE: I really want to make a preview card that I can re-use for each new wallpack, I would really appreciate any links to preview cards you like just so I know what other people like.

That's right! today I logged on and saw Benny04 : Benny04.deviantart.com had posted a comment on my profile page congratulating me on getting a DD. I was pretty sure that I didn't get a DD, so I commented back asking him what he was talking about. I checked my message center and nothing was there, so assumed Benny was mistaken. But when I went and looked at the actual deviation (garden of noise) I saw that little DD symbol and almost jumped out of my chair.

I want to thank each and every one of my watchers who have helped me improve by commenting on my Deviations. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Also I want to extend a ginormous thank-you to allhopeislost, who has helped me out around DA pretty much since I have joined, and has now featured one of my works a DD. I can't thank him enough!

That's right, I'm on the verge of releasing my new wallpack, called 'Lines'. It's a techno-grunge sorta wallpaper, and I see it as one of my best wall packs yet.

I've created two previews for the pack, But cannot decide which to use. I've uploaded the previews to my scraps and would appreciate any deviant who left a comment saying which one they like better, and hopefully a few improvements that could be made.

Don't worry, not permanently.
Me and My family are traveling down to Canberra for the holidays. I should be gone about two weeks, so I won't be responding to comments or thanking you for favs. But please don't let that stop you, I'd love to come back to see a full message center.

I've completed my wall pack  and now I've started the preveiw. I want to know which preveiw style of mine you like the best. (converge series, aurora, jumper, sealed, twilight, tribute). Or should I make something different? Any replies are much appreciated!
